Family Federation for World Peace and Unification of U.S.A.

America's Destiny Tour
One Family Under God - Hope · Harmony · Healing

~ Mrs. Jun Sook Kwak Moon ~

"Pacific Rim Era in God's Providence"

May 31, 2007 - North Dakota

Jun Sook Kwak Moon made the 11th stop of her 19-state tour in Fargo, North Dakota, on Thursday evening, May 31. She was greeted there by close family members and friends who gathered at Holiday Inn’s Sterling Room. Present were community and youth leaders from both Christian and Muslim faiths. The event was strongly supported and participated in by the Pfeiffer and Tobkin familes. It was the first such event in our state since Father’s 50 State Tour in 2001

Guests enjoyed a banquet preprogram with entertainment by "Talent Productions"

John Foss read a moving letter from a state official that showed he understood the worldwide importance of Mrs. Jun Sook Nim’s work.

Rev. Carl Swearson, a native North Dakotan, was the MC, relaxed and energetic. No one could have guessed that he was conducting the 6th of 7 events in his region as part of a nonstop state-to-state tour.

Kenneth Masunga, an educator from Sudan, supported our event with his family of 11. He was our first guest participant in the burning ceremony.

Chris and Joan Poer were a representative couple for the Holy Wine Blessing. Looking at each other with love in their eyes, they led the assembly in the holy wine ceremony.

Bishop Ki Hoon Kim, national officer of the American Clergy Leadership Conference, gave the welcoming address. His presentation was short and to the point. It served the purpose of bridging our local community’s mindset of local concerns with the global perspective of True Parents’ work.

The video presentation “One Family Under God” received many compliments. Some expressed that it was of the best videos our movement has ever produced. It shows the essence of our work in a very matter-of-fact way, and let that work stand for itself without extra promotion.

Mary Marshall returned to the stage for the featured musical performance, “Shed a Little light”. It was perfectly placed in the program as a heartfelt cry for all to become one under God.

The introduction to the keynote speaker was given by Rev. Jesse Edwards. It was a spirited presentation reminding everyone that God, not humans, define the family by His creation of man and woman. He emphasized that God’s family includes all the people. I could see our Muslim guests beaming at being recognized as valid children of God by a Pentecostal minister.

Mrs. Jun Sook Kwak Moon gave a heart-filled introduction that showed an amazing understanding of the mind of our local people. She seemed to know just what to say to resonate with our hearts. She went on to convey Father’s words with dignity, beauty, and grace. She is a living definition of the meaning of “lineage of God”. Flowers in a full spectrum of colors were presented by Chris and Joan Poer. A “Crystal Heart” from the “Heartland” was presented to Jun Sook Nim by Lisa McCaslin.

Connie Stoll and Joan Poer followed Jun Sook Nim’s lead in the signing of the Declaration of Peace. The signature-filled declaration will be a treasure for our state. Ambassador for Peace Appointments were gratefully received. The guests remained long afterward, discussing and writing the reflections reported above.

We are eternally grateful to True Parents and True Family for the love they invest into completing the Ideal of God.

Guest Testimonies From Jun Sook Nim’s Event in Fargo, May 31, 2007:

“Dear Mrs. Moon, It was a great honor to hear you read Father Moon’s speech. It was also a great honor for my wife, Joan, and I to present you with flowers. This is an experience we will never forget. We will truly work hard to realize the goal of one family under God.”

“Mrs. Jun Sook Kwak Moon—First, I was struck by your great beauty on the outside! It soon became evident that this beauty transcends clear to your inner being. God has given you the voice, beauty, and aura of peace that enable you to reach and touch the hearts and minds of many. Victorious Future for us All!

Happy Prosperous New Year 2007 to All!

Midnight Prayer, Celebration & Music Practice at the Foss's

ND Families gathered as we usually do for a midnight prayer. Because we were to rise early and drive to Minneapolis, we celebrated with those a few time zones ahead of us. We miss the Immels, Turconi's, and Ormans who have moved in recent years. Our major New Years resolution will be to reach out to others in anticipation of our growing universal family.

God's Day at the District's Minneapolis Event

The Anderson Family and the Pehling's Sing and Dance. Larry works his "Magic". Mr. Kim excels!

ND Families headed to MPLS for the district wide God's Day Celebration. Over 150 gathered at the Shoreview Community Center for Entertainment, Sports and Games. Larry made a great contribution to our community by organizing performances from around the District and also by serving as MC (John helped with the mics!!). Cindy and Judy added their families great musical talent to the performance. Sorry, we were all performing and there was no one to take the picture.

Judy was given an award for her faithful young adulthood. She is the first 2nd generation from ND to receive the Blessing. She was also the first to participate in STF. She is headed off to live with her husband in France. She is always a part of our hearts no matter where in the world she goes.

Bernatte Ehlers and Marlene Trenbeath were awarded 2006 Appreciation Award exemplified by their efforts this summer. They drove across country to the Blessed Wives Workshop at the UTS from there remote location in "northern" North Dakota. We know it is difficult to main a faithful life at such a distance from faith brother's and sister's. We want to do all we can to support their Tribal Messiah work.

STF @ Home Event by Roshan Foss:

Roshan gave a most heart-felt presentation. She explained how her faith is becoming hers, being transformed from doing religious things mainly to please her parents, to discovering her own beliefs and convictions. She is determined to take responsibility for her faith and responsibility to discover who she really is (her true identity).

During high school and living in an area with just a few blessed children, she had enjoyed her Christian fellowship and school friends. She felt more "normal" with them and struggled with the feeling that she wasn't a true BC. God is testing her to make decisions about what truly believes. Now, while fundraising, she experiences persecution by Christians who accuse her of being manipulated and brainwashed. She now discerns that their arguments are both limited in understanding and many times said without true love. They speak with repetitive jargon. "Maybe they are brainwashed" she asked herself.

She has realized that she depends on love and guidance from others to much. Having so much support in life, she never really turned to God. She is now determined to go to God for love and guidance. She realized that there is no where but STF to have such experiences.

She is experiencing things in some of the same ways as the first generation, and understands more deeply the course her own parents and True Parents traveled. Her most moving statement was that she is determined not lose the foundation laid down by True Parent and built upon by her parents. She is determined to carry on "Heaven's Tradition" of True Love, Faith and Obedience. She now has more confidence. She sees herself as a bridge to carry the spirit of her parent's for generations to come. She has a passion to discover what her parents found for herself. She doesn't want all the sacrifices made by her parents to be lost. She is inspired to find the value of True Parents by looking from God's point of view, the perspective of His Providence.

Where at first she was hesitant in her involvement in STF, she is now eager to return and help with Hyunjin nim's speaking tour, do more hard work and continue her adventure.

"Go Girl. LFSO" (STF jargon for Live For The Sake of Others)

Our Special Thoughts & Prayers are with Keiko's Father, Tokushige Hamada. He morns the loss of his wife Dec. 16, 2006. Rev. Swearson writes of Keiko's Mother:

God’s Day, 2007, was not only the 40th True God’s Day, it also marked the 40th spiritual birthday of Misao Hamada, spiritual and physical mother of Keiko Foss of North Dakota. In the early days of our movement, five members of the Hamada family signed membership together in Nagoya, Japan on God’s Day 1967. She and her husband were later blessed at the Seoul, Korea Yoido Rally in 1975.

Mrs. Hamada had been suffering with Alzheimer’s over the past 10 years. During that time, she was largely cared for by her loving husband of 60 years. Mrs. Hamada ascended a few days before God’s Day 2007.

Mrs. Keiko Foss has been sacrificing in America since the early 1970’s. She wrote this of her mother, “My Mother was a pillar of firm faith for the Hamada Clan. She was a pioneer woman. She kept faith in God & True Parents for 40 years.”

God bless the Hamada Family! We are all indebted to you for your love and sacrifice!

5th World Tour: Events # 1 & 2

5th World Tour: ND's Kickoff Event #1:

* At the home of John & Keiko Foss

* Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, Fargo, ND

* 22 participants

* Four Am/Peaces appointed

* Blessing ceremony held/ DVD watched

* The whole speech was read

Keiko Foss (who did a three-day fast to start off Ambassadors for Peace appointments) & Cindy Pfeiffer began their outreach earlier in the week reaching out to past contacts of good character, through prayer, that we felt would be appropriate to be appointed as Ambassadors for Peace. Many ideas started to open up. Keiko reached out to a minister’s wife, a young Kurdish couple Mahdy & Soham Bawary, a former Am/Peace’s daughter, able-type relatives, and community leaders; both Keiko and Cindy went to the city hall showing the DVD there. Both of us made individual appointments throughout the week.

Mahdy & Soham Barwardi, youth leader

We wanted to make Sunday evening special by reaching out to our longtime contacts: the Kurdish family that we have been connected to. In 1995 two Kurdish couples: Salman & Helema Barwardi & Annis & Khadija Yesin attended the Satellite Blessing in Minneapolis with Juergen & Cindy Pfeiffer. Salman was a military general for 19 years and worked with the US in the zone-free area during the Golf War. Likewise, his son-in-law, Annis Yesin was one of the translators who also helped the US military during the Golf War. This family has a long history of suffering in their home country of Kurdistan, Iraq. Many Kurdish families had their villages air-dumped with chemicals by Saddam Hussein’s regime; they had to repeatedly flee to the hillsides in the middle of the night to avoid exposure. Many still have adverse affects like stunted growth. Some had to flee through mountainous terrain carrying their children only to feel them die in their arms. Being in a well know position, this particular family had to buy other people’s identity to escape. They waited for three years in a refugee camp in Turkey until the US government could find sponsors for such a huge amount of refugees. In our area, the Lutheran Social Services sponsored the Kurds. They still travel back and forth to Kurdistan and are a beautiful example of a solid three-generational family living in close contact. By looking at the photo we can see families that are fruitful—having many children. They are truly desirous of world peace and feel very connected to our founder! Salman Barwardi is very proud of the fact that he resembles our Founder, True Father. During the 50 state tour, he danced at the entrance when seeing Father there. They looked very happy to be appointed Am/Peace!

John & Keiko Foss prepared their home beautifully, and each family brought dishes of food to share. For the weeks’ total, counting this Sunday, we have appointed 18 new Ambassadors for Peace.
